TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024
This years Tournament was once again held at St.Neots Table Tennis Club, Cambridgeshire, one of the best purpose built clubs in the Country.
Players from all around the UK battled hard in Open Singles, Doubles, Veterans & a Consolation event.
After a full on session of round robin group games to decide the knockout stages, Lincolnshire's Anthony Tindall took on London based Ben Mensah and progressed to the Final with a convincing 3-0 victory.
In the second Semi, Staffordshire's 'Wiley Old Character' Chris Elkin then took on Cornwall 'Legend' Austin Chapman & was made to work hard, before coming from behind to record a fine 3-2 win !
The Doubles Final was actually contested by all four of the Singles Semi Finalists, with Elkin/Tindall Triumphing over Mensah/Chapman 3-1 in a very entertaining match.
Anthony Tindall then made it a day to remember once again taking on Elkin, this time in the Vets Final, and recorded another 3-0 victory for a hattrick of titles.
Completing the days play in the Consolation Event, Shropshire's Gary Thompson took on his best buddy Bedfordshire's Rob Adamson with bragging rights up for grabs. Thompsons tight defensive play left Adamson bemused and came out a comfortable 3-0 winner.
A great days competition
Thankyou to all who took part 🏓
